There's no shortage of people willing to sell you AI right now. There's rather less appetite for telling you when it won't work.

We come at this from a useful angle. Two decades of building websites, intranets and integrations means we've seen what happens when a clever idea meets a real content model, a real permissions structure, and a team who already have a day job. Usually the idea is fine. It's the foundations underneath that decide whether it survives.

So we start with your content and your systems, not your budget. If the answer is that AI isn't the right tool yet, you'll hear it from us early, while it's still cheap to change course.

We made the NSW curriculum readable by AI

NESA's curriculum is a large, deeply structured body of content. Useful to a teacher, almost unusable to an AI tool.

We built an MCP server around it. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the emerging open standard for connecting AI assistants to real data sources. It means an AI tool can now query the curriculum directly and accurately, instead of guessing at it from whatever it absorbed during training.

Why it matters to you: if you hold a large body of structured content, a standards library, a policy set, a product catalogue, a regulatory framework, this is the pattern that makes it usable by AI without handing it to anyone or retraining a model.

We're building an AI development application checklist for councils

Development applications are slow for a reason. Every submission has to be checked against a thicket of controls, and the checking is manual, repetitive and easy to get wrong.

We're building an AI-powered DA checklist that reads a submission and checks it against the applicable requirements, so planners spend their time on judgement calls rather than on confirming whether a document was attached.

Why it matters to you: any high-volume, rules-heavy assessment process has the same shape. Grant applications, compliance submissions, tender responses, licence renewals.

We build mobile apps that plug straight into AI-built websites

Websites and apps have always drifted apart. Different teams, different timelines, two sets of content to keep in step.

That's the problem we solved for AIPA. We built their iOS app alongside their website, using AI tools to drive the build, so the content, the data and the logic live on the site and the app simply consumes them. Publish once on the web, and it's live in the app.

We bring legacy applications into the 21st century

Every organisation has one. The system that still runs something important, that nobody wants to touch, whose original developers left years ago and whose documentation was never written.

We use AI to reverse engineer applications like these. It reads the codebase, reconstructs what the system actually does and why, and produces the documentation that should have existed. For Sundowners, that groundwork let us rebuild the entire application from scratch, with an automated AI-assisted pipeline covering the build, QA review and deployments.

Why it matters to you: the reason legacy replacement projects stall is almost never the technology. It's that nobody can say with confidence what the old system does. This solves that part.

AI services, answered

A good one tells you what not to build. The work splits into three parts: working out where AI is genuinely worth applying in your organisation, building the thing, and getting it into your systems in a way that survives contact with your permissions, your content model and your team's actual working week. Most of the failures we see happen in that third part, which is why we start there rather than with the model.

In practice, less than the labels suggest, but the emphasis differs. An AI agency usually leads with building: a chatbot, an automation, a website feature. A consultancy leads with the decision: whether to build at all, what first, and what it's worth. We do both, and we'd rather you paid us for a fortnight of assessment than a quarter of building the wrong thing.

It depends entirely on what you're trying to do. If you need enterprise data science at scale, the large consultancies are built for that. If you want marketing content, a marketing agency will serve you. Yes, and it's some of our strongest ground. We've built intranets and SharePoint environments for NSW Health, Infrastructure NSW and others, so we're familiar with what happens when Copilot meets a permissions structure that grew organically over a decade. The usual finding is that the AI works fine and the permissions don't, which is a solvable problem, but not one you want to discover after rollout.

Most of our work is in that space: NSW Health, the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, Infrastructure NSW, UNSW, NESA and local councils. We're used to procurement processes, data sovereignty requirements, accessibility obligations and the fact that "move fast and break things" is not an available option.

Ordinary automation follows rules you write in advance, so it needs predictable input. An AI agent can handle messy input, make a judgement, and take an action across several systems. Most real workflows need both, and we build them together with a human checkpoint wherever being wrong would be expensive.

Sometimes not, and we'll tell you when. It's worth it when the work is high volume, repetitive, and currently done by someone who should be doing something better. It isn't worth it when the process is rare, when the cost of an error is severe and unrecoverable, or when a database and a form would do the job.

No. We work across HubSpot, Umbraco, Xperience by Kentico, Kontent.ai, SharePoint and custom .NET builds, with OpenAI, Azure AI and Anthropic's Claude. We're partner-certified across several platforms, which means we can be honest about which one actually suits you.

A readiness assessment is fixed scope and measured in weeks. Builds are quoted against a defined scope. Ongoing work usually sits on a monthly retainer. We'll give you a range in the first conversation rather than making you wait for a proposal.

Wherever you need it to be. We can keep processing inside Australian Azure regions or entirely within your own tenancy, and we'll confirm it in writing before anything is built. Our government and health clients set the standard here, and everyone benefits from it.

Then we'll say so. A meaningful share of the AI work we're asked to quote turns out to be better solved with a database, a form, or a change to a process. Telling you that early is the most useful thing we do.
